Dear Residents and Families,

I hope this letter finds you well. Last evening, we learned that a Seacrest at Home caregiver tested positive for COVID-19.

The families and residents cared for by this individual, of which there were three, were notified immediately as well as the staff involved. Contact tracing continues as the caregiver who tested positive worked just one shift in our Leichtag Family Assisted Living Residence and one shift in our Katzin Residence. The Seacrest at Home caregiver didn’t work in our Goldberg Health Care Center, though escorted one resident to her doctor’s appointment Friday before the resident ‘s previously scheduled discharge home Sunday. The other two residents are in quarantine and will be tested twice in the next 14 days.

Because of the nature of the Katzin Residence, and the difficulty it is for a resident there to remain in quarantine, we want to protect everyone as much as possible. For this reason, we have decided to suspend the Katzin Family Visiting Program effective immediately, until further notice, likely just one week from now. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Our staff have sufficient personal protective equipment, (PPE) and continue to be tested monthly along with our residents. Residents and staff in our health care center are now tested weekly, per county guidelines.

We want to remind everyone again to please adhere to our Seacrest Pledge; wear masks outside our homes, avoid large crowds, stay socially distanced and wash our hands frequently!

We will continue to provide updates and do our best to keep you informed. And as mentioned, if your family member was exposed, you would have already been contacted. Even so, don’t hesitate to call if you have questions.

All my best,
