Seacrest Village: (760) 632-0081

October 22, 2020

Good morning Residents and Families,

I am writing to share that last evening we learned that a culinary employee has tested positive for COVID-19. This employee mainly works in the Katzin Residence.

We began immediate contact tracing and will be testing all Katzin residents and at-risk staff over the next couple of days. For your safety, and out of an abundance of caution, we will postpone family visits to the Katzin Residence until further notice, though scheduled visits for the other buildings will remain. I assure you that we are taking every measure possible to protect all of our residents and staff.

As we have previously shared, we will continue to follow the “Criteria for Return to Work for Health Care Personnel with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19” guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are grateful this employee is currently asymptomatic and hope that remains the case.

This new employee positive test result reminds us that as a Seacrest community, we are not in any way free of the need to continue our strict practices. It also reminds us how grateful we are to family members for your support with regard to not coming to the Seacrest campus, other than for scheduled visits or to drop off packages. And we thank our residents for not leaving the campus unless for medical appointments communicated with your building director.

I want to remind you how important it is to social distance, wear your masks, wash your hands frequently and avoid large gatherings. Let us be as cautious now as we have been all along so that together, we can minimize the number of people affected by this terrible virus.

I want to thank each of you for your continued patience, trust, and understanding. Do not hesitate to call me should you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Pam Ferris
