Good morning Seacrest Residents and Family Members,
I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving albeit much different than any of us imagined. I want to inform you that last evening we received notification that a member of our nursing team who works in our Goldberg Healthcare community has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
We have begun contact tracing as well as additional testing of any residents and employees who may have come in contact with this employee. As the employee has not been on campus since November 20, we are hopeful that this will be an isolated incident. Our employee is in the hospital and we ask that you join us in sending positive thoughts for a complete recovery. Of course, if you were directly exposed you will be notified immediately.
As stated many times, we are currently following the “Criteria for Return to Work for Health Care Personnel with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19” guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Please know that we have followed, and will continue to do so, all guidance set forth for privacy, patient care, employee safety, and efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 as provided by the California Department of Health (DOH) and the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). We remain in constant contact with DOH and CMS. As you know, Seacrest has its own stringent protocols, and we are adamant about being risk averse when it comes to our residents and staff. Over the past several weeks we have stressed the importance of being extremely aware of how this virus can quickly transmit. We ask you to continue being mindful of wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and washing your hands often.
We remind and encourage family members to communicate regularly through email, FaceTime, Skype, Zoom and traditional phone calls.
