Seacrest Village: (760) 632-0081

July 8, 2020

As you know, Seacrest has implemented routine testing of our residents and staff. I’m writing to share that last evening we learned that a resident and staff person in our Katzin Residence, our memory care center, both tested positive for COVID-19 and both are asymptomatic. Contract tracing and testing are currently being performed, and all Katzin residents and staff will be retested in the days ahead.

  • The resident is now in quarantine in the Katzin Residence and is being strictly monitored.
  • The employee is not on the campus and will not return until all mandated guidelines are met.

We have notified public health officials as required and are following procedures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. We are taking every step as recommended by authorities to prevent further infection. We want to make residents, their families, and our dedicated associates aware of this situation and reassure everyone that we are doing everything possible to take care of you.

Developments are changing day-by-day, minute-by-minute. Our focus remains on the health and well-being of our residents and associates. We must also recognize and show our appreciation to our team for the concern and commitment they have shown to our residents every moment during these challenging months. Our mission has never been more meaningful. We ask that our residents and associates do all that they can to support our Seacrest community by following the recommendations set forth by the CDC:

  • Physical distancing at all times
  • Notifying your supervisor or building director if you’re not feeling well
  • Washing your hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water frequently
  • Self-isolating if showing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19
  • Seeking medical assistance as necessary

We ask that our residents please stay on campus and that family members not come to the campus unless dropping packages off at our main entrance. Each time someone leaves and returns, it only makes it harder for us to control the spread of the virus and to keep everyone safe. When you take these risks, you expose the whole Seacrest community to the outside. None of us knows who is carrying the virus and it is up to each of us to care about one another. There is no question that what each of us does impacts the other.

We know these are trying times and appreciate everyone’s cooperation so together, we can keep everyone safe. We will provide updates regularly. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,
