January 8, 2021

Dear Residents, Families and Staff,

This communication is to inform you of a few things. After recently reporting to you that one of our Resident Services employees had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, we immediately began testing our Independent Living Residents and staff yesterday, January 7, 2021.

While we still have a few residents to test, as of now all residents and staff have tested negative. We will test all residents again on Monday, January 11, 2021, and, at that time we will determine if we can end the quarantine of Independent Living on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

As we have previously shared, we will continue to follow the “Criteria for Return to Work for Health Care Personnel with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19” guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The most difficult part of this letter is to inform you that many of the residents in our Katzin Residence have tested positive for the COVID-19 Virus over the last 24 hours. In addition, one of our Katzin employees has also tested positive. We have tested all residents and employees and we will continue to test them. We will notify family members immediately if we have anything to report. At this time, those whose family members have tested positive have been notified.

We are doing everything we possibly can to mitigate the spread of the virus. We ask that you limit your calls to the Katzin staff unless necessary. We have only one goal and that is to keep your family members protected and safe and this means that we need all staff available. We will be communicating with you regularly.

We will get through this and we appreciate everyone’s support.

Sincerely,

Pam Ferris
