COVID Update – August 4, 2021

Dear Residents, Families and Associates,

 

I am writing to inform you that late today we received a positive test result from an employee who works in the Fitness Center in the Ottenstein Vitality Center. This employee also conducted a fitness class as well as a one- on-one Nustep exercise class in our Assisted Living Residence. The employee, who is unvaccinated, last worked yesterday, Tuesday August 3, 2021.

 

 

We want to reiterate that we continue to follow the “Criteria for Return to Work for Health Care Personnel with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19” guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

 

 

Effectively immediately, the Fitness Center will be closed until we have a chance to complete contact tracing and testing of residents and staff who were potentially exposed.

 

 

Residents, out of an abundance of caution, if you are contacted about potential exposure, we ask that you not go into the dining room or attend programming until testing and results are complete. Meals will be delivered to your apartments beginning this evening, August 4th, 2021.

 

 

Testing for potentially exposed residents will occur next Monday August 9th. If all test results from Monday (likely received Tuesday August 10th) are negative, residents will be able to resume their normal activities. If any resident experiences symptoms, please let staff know immediately and we will conduct a rapid test.

 

 

As you have heard before, when new situations arise, we will act quickly and continue to do everything possible to protect our residents and staff. Your patience and cooperation are most appreciated as we complete contact tracing and testing and continue to respond to the unpredictability of this virus.
