Seacrest Village: (760) 632-0081

July 13, 2022

I must begin by thanking you for the continued support and encouragement as we work through this current surge of the COVID-19 Virus. There have been letters and calls to you recently and I want to assure you that we are as concerned as you are. Our incredible staff is doing everything possible to mitigate further spread of the virus across our campus and to keep you and your loved ones as safe as possible.

Yesterday, we were advised by the San Diego County Epidemiology Department that we were to close our Assisted Living Dining Room for seven days; avoiding communal dining to reduce further exposure.

I am sorry to report that this morning a member of our Assisted Living Life Enrichment team tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. This employee was last on campus yesterday, July 12, and is at home and unfortunately symptomatic. In addition, today a member of our Goldberg Healthcare Center Nursing team tested positive and is also at home with symptoms. This employee was last on campus on July 11.

Upon notification of these positive employees, our staff immediately began contact tracing and has now notified anyone who may have been exposed. We have also contacted all mandated agencies.

According to a recent article in Los Angeles Times, “common steps public health officials recommend include staying up to date on vaccinations and boosters, testing before attending gatherings or events, and wearing masks when in indoor or crowded public settings.” These are simple things that we hope everyone is doing; especially if coming to visit someone at Seacrest.

Further in the Los Angeles Times article it reads “BA.5 seems to be doubling down on earlier Omicron traits of ‘immune escape,’ the ability of the virus to escape the human body’s immune response induced by vaccinations or previous infection.”

We share this information with you so that you are aware of what we are dealing with as the virus spreads and so that you too can take every precaution to protect yourselves. Given we are in the thick of receiving and distributing information, if you have any questions, or if we can help you in any way, please do not hesitate to call.

Most sincerely,
