Dear Residents, Families and Associates,

The following information pertains only to our Goldberg Residence Court.

Last week a culinary employee who works in Independent Living (IL) tested positive for COVID-19. We took immediate action and began contact tracing to determine which residents and staff were potentially exposed. At the same time, we stopped outside visits as well as all programming and service in the dining room.

Testing of our IL residents and staff was conducted yesterday and today, I am pleased to share with you that there has been no further spread of the virus.

Effective immediately, all outside visits, and programming will resume, the fitness center will reopen, and the IL salon will return to its usual schedule of service this Thursday and Friday.

Happy Hour will be held on the AVS patio Thursday, and the dining room will reopen Friday morning. Shabbat Services will occur with Rabbi Leah in the Chodorow Synagogue on Saturday for all residents throughout the campus.

Residents and families, please be reminded that masks are required to be worn whenever in our common areas. We also encourage everyone to wear masks when out in the community. We know first hand that even those vaccinated can still get COVID-19, and we all need to do everything possible to stay safe for ourselves and those around us.

We are pleased that all our levels of care are open once again and residents can resume their normal activities. That said, with the increased spread of COVID-19 cases in San Diego, and the Delta variant spreading at a more rapid pace than anticipated, we are prepared to do whatever is necessary to protect our residents and staff. This means if we must act quickly again, we will.

We trust you know that all decisions are made in the best interest of everyone and are grateful for the outpouring of support from so many of you. Please don’t hesitate to contact your building director if you have questions. Stay safe, everyone. And thank you again for your ongoing support.

Best regards,
