Seacrest Village: (760) 632-0081

July 19, 2022

Dear Residents and Families,

I know how concerning it is to receive so many messages about the surge in positive COVID-19 cases at Seacrest. We too share your concerns and want to assure you that we continue to do everything possible to protect our residents and staff from this incredibly contagious virus.

Today we learned that another Goldberg Healthcare Center (GHC) resident tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and is symptomatic. This now makes a total of six residents in GHC in the past several days, and of the six, four of them had the virus just one month ago. These reinfections are the most unfortunate and disappointing aspect we face with this latest variant. In addition, we learned that a member of our Administration team, who worked today, tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and is fortunately asymptomatic. And a member of our Katzin team, who last worked July 14 has also tested positive today and is symptomatic.

As we continue to mention, we report all positive cases to the appropriate regulatory agencies. After reporting the recent outbreak in our Assisted Living Residence, the County of San Diego Health & Human Services Agency directed us to stop inside visits to that building, and to only allow outside visits at the present time. Therefore, effective tomorrow, all visitors to Assisted Living will need to be tested, and while that is happening, our staff will assist residents to a visiting area outside. Visits will occur both in the front of Assisted Living and our main entrance area. All visitors must wear masks during the visit.

We understand how important resident and family visits are. During this latest surge we continue to find ourselves walking a fine line in keeping residents safe from COVID-19 while also paying close attention to their emotional well-being. There is nothing more important to us than to make sure you are safe and supported in every way possible.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. We are here for you.

Most sincerely,
