Dear Residents and Families,
I am sorry to report that late yesterday we learned that a member of our Independent Living Culinary team tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. This individual last worked July 16 and is fortunately asymptomatic. In addition, yesterday two residents in our Goldberg Healthcare Center tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Unfortunately, one of the residents is symptomatic.
Today we learned that another resident who resides in our Goldberg Healthcare Center, a nurse who also works in our Goldberg Healthcare Center and last worked July 15, and a therapist in our Rehabilitation Department who last worked July 1, all tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Unfortunately, all individuals are symptomatic.
We have conducted contact tracing and those exposed were notified. In addition, we continue to report all positive cases to the applicable regulatory agencies and follow the CDC guidelines regarding staff returning to work.
I am also saddened to report that since this recent surge began, several residents and staff who just one month ago had COVID-19 and recovered, began having symptoms and tested positive again. An important reminder to take extra precautions to stay safe during this challenging time.
