Seacrest Village: (760) 632-0081 Seacrest Foundation: (760) 516-2019
July 15, 2020

We hope you had a restful weekend and good beginning of the week.

I am writing to share that we were recently notified by Lightbridge Hospice that one of their employees has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

This employee was in three of our buildings prior to testing positive and has not returned since receiving test results. As we gathered the information to make sure we were reporting accurate data to you, we began immediate testing and contact tracing. We will report all tests results back to you when we have them.

Because this employee saw five residents within our Assisted Living, Memory Care Residence, and Skilled Nursing buildings, we have subsequently made the decision to stop visits into all our buildings from outside hospice providers for two weeks. Please know that we have the skill and capability to take care of our residents and we will do so with the love, care, and compassion they so deserve. Nothing is more important to us. In addition, and as a result of the recent county guidelines, we have closed the pools and the beauty salons on our campus.

As I said in my last correspondence, this new positive test result reminds us that we as a Seacrest community are not in any way free of the need to continue, and even enhance, our strict practices. Residents, we care about you and ask that you, just as our employees, wear your masks around campus and practice social distancing. We also respectfully request that you don’t leave the building for medical or any other appointments unless it is truly essential, and if that occurs, please discuss your need with your building director.

Families, we ask that you continue to support us and encourage your loved ones to adhere to our protocols. Coming onto the campus, even in our parking lot to speak with your loved one is not allowed right now, nor is having a visit with your loved one when you drop off items. It makes it very tough for other residents when they see this happening for some, and they don’t have the same opportunity. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

I want to thank each of you for your continued patience, trust, and understanding. This is not easy for any of us, and I assure you that our executive team with the support of our Board of Trustees, is doing everything in your best interest.

Please do not hesitate to call me should you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Pam Ferris
