Seacrest Village: (760) 632-0081

July 14, 2021

Good morning Seacrest Residents, Family Members, and Staff,

Last week we were saddened to share with you that one of our Independent Living Residents had tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, two of our employees also tested positive. We immediately took every precaution we could so that we could determine the extent of exposures to others. I am glad to be able to share with you that after extensive testing of both residents and staff there has been no further spread of the virus.

Effective today the Fitness Center is open, and all other programs, activities, and family visits will resume. We ask for your patience as we will need until Friday morning to reopen the Independent Living Dining Room. Happy Hour will definitely take place on Thursday on the AVS patio for residents in Independent Living. 🙂

With the increased number of cases in San Diego and the Delta Variant spreading at a more rapid pace than anticipated, we are prepared to do whatever is necessary to keep one another safe and protected. This means that if we must act quickly again, we will.

We trust that you know that all decisions are in the best interest of all of you and we are grateful for the outpouring of support from so many of you.

Residents, we cannot stress enough the need to wear masks when off the Seacrest campus. You don’t know who is vaccinated and we don’t want any exposure that could put you or those on our campus in harm’s way. Additionally, ALL VISITORS are required to wear KN95 masks until further notice. And these masks MUST be worn at all times when on campus with the exception of visiting outside or in individual apartments.

Again, family visits will start immediately, however, we strongly suggest if you are not vaccinated that you consider the risk you place on others if you come to our campus. If unvaccinated you will not be permitted in any of our buildings and must arrange for your visit to occur outside.

Regardless of vaccination status, if you are visiting the Goldberg Health Care Center, you must make a reservation with Jenny Jacobs (jjacobs@seacrestvillage.org or 760-516-2007) prior to your visit. Visitors to the Health Care Center are not permitted to be on the nursing unit without the consent of Nancy Strassner, R.N., Director of Nursing. She can be reached at nstrassner@seacrestvillage.org or (760) 516-2030.

Please do not hesitate to contact your building director if you need anything. As I stated above, should another situation arise, we will work quickly as we did last week and need your full cooperation in understanding that our highest priority is to keep our residents and staff safe.

Sincerely,

Pam Ferris
