January 4, 2022

Dear Residents and Family Members,

Today is January 4, 2022. This morning we learned that one of our Katzin Residence employees tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The employee was last on campus yesterday and is unfortunately experiencing symptoms. We have conducted initial contact tracing and feel confident that those who were directly exposed have already been notified. We have also notified all mandated regulatory agencies.

Our collective hearts remain heavy as we know the toll this virus, as well as this frequent information, takes on our staff, our residents, and our family members.

Please continue to support our team and trust that we are doing everything we can to mitigate the spread of the virus. I know I asked this yesterday but please, if a resident plans to leave the campus with a family member, it is only fair to ask families to test before taking that resident out of the building. We have already had multiple situations where a resident went to a family member’s home and returned only to have COVID-19 within days. Families, please test those whom our resident will be around out of an obligation to yourself, your loved one(s), and the hundreds of residents and staff on the campus. Residents, we continue to ask you to please stay on campus. We must all work together to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Many of you have asked, if, with all the cases that we are experiencing, we have enough staff. Please know that we are doing ok and that is only because of the incredible dedication of our staff to one another. Everyone is pitching in, just like a family, to take care of one another. I remain incredibly proud of our team. And I want to thank our residents for the kind words you all are sharing with them as they drop off meals and respond to your needs and requests. I am sharing your sentiments, and they truly do make a difference.

Residents, we hope you are talking walks and enjoying this beautiful weather. We can be grateful that amidst the anxiety of the virus, we are fortunate to live in this climate where we can spend time outside and breathe the fresh air.

Please contact any one of the members of our management team with any questions. We recognize, now more than ever, that we are all part of the Seacrest Family, and together we can get through this if we each do our part.

With much gratitude,
