Seacrest Village: (760) 632-0081

January 16, 2021

Dear Seacrest Residents, Family Members, and Associates,

I want to inform you that a member of our Culinary team, whose primary responsibility is in the Katzin Residence, has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. This employee was last on campus on January 12th. Of course, if you were exposed you will be notified.

As we always share, we will continue to follow the “Criteria for Return to Work for Health Care Personnel with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19” guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Independent Living residents are happily out of quarantine; we will soon be able to return to the previous dining room schedule.

As a reminder:

  • Wear the appropriate PPE (mask/shield/gown).
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer.
  • Social distance and stay home as much as possible when not at work.
  • Self-isolate if showing any signs of COVID-19.
  • Seek medical assistance as necessary.

Many of you have inquired about the vaccine and when the rest of our residents will receive theirs. The majority of our nursing home residents and staff were provided the vaccine on 12/30/2020. CVS Health will return on 1/20/2021 to administer the second shot. Unfortunately, we have not been provided a date from CVS Health as to when they will provide the vaccine for our Assisted Living (AL) residents, and we continue to advocate strongly that they also include our Independent Living (IL) residents when they do. If they cannot, based on their contract with the government, we hope to find another alternative for our IL residents whereby they could be provided the vaccine on site. We promise to keep you updated as we learn more.

We care about each of you and strongly suggest that you follow the Governor’s Stay at Home orders as much as possible. We ask that everyone keep our residents and staff in their thoughts as this is a very difficult time for our Seacrest Family.

Sincerely,

Pam Ferris
