December 26, 2021

Dear Residents, Families, and Associates,

Today is December 26, 2021 and the following information ONLY pertains to our Goldberg Healthcare Center, (GHC).

Late last evening, through a rapid test done by an employee off campus who was experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, another employee of the Goldberg Healthcare Center (GHC) tested positive, for the COVID-19 virus. The employee, who works in Life Enrichment, last worked December 22 when a PCR test was provided as part of our routine testing. On December 23, the result for this individual was negative for the COVID-19 virus. After experiencing symptoms, the employee tested positive on a rapid test conducted off site. We wish our employee a speedy recovery.

While this information doesn’t change our plans for all GHC residents and staff to be tested when the lab reopens tomorrow, December 27, we wanted to follow our protocol in sharing this new information as timely as possible. It’s another reminder of how quickly one can become infected and the importance of taking great precautions to remain safe and free from COVID-19.

As a reminder, all scheduled visits to those who reside in our nursing home must be postponed until we can administer PCR tests to residents and staff tomorrow. We hope to receive all results within 24-48 hours. While we know that everyone understands, we are terribly sorry for this situation, and we will continue to do everything we can to mitigate the spread of this virus.

Our GHC staff will continue to wear N95 masks and shields to protect themselves and our residents. We ask for your cooperation by continuing to wear masks, socially distance, and only be with those whom you know have been vaccinated, including a booster shot.

Please feel free to email or call with questions. My direct line is 760-516-2020. You can leave a message and I will get back with you as soon as possible.

Once again, please know that the above visiting information pertains ONLY to those who reside in the Goldberg Healthcare Center nursing home.

Best regards,
