Seacrest Village: (760) 632-0081

August 3, 2020

Dear Seacrest Family, Residents, and Staff –

Today we were notified that one of our Leichtag Family Assisted Living caregivers has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. We immediately began contact tracing of our staff and residents, and assure you that we are taking every measure possible to provide protection. The few residents who were exposed to this employee have already been tested as have several employees. Fortunately, the scope of contact was minimal though we are taking every precaution.

As we have shared several times, we will continue to follow the “Criteria for Return to Work for Health Care Personnel with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19” guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in addition to our own protocols, which we believe are even more stringent.

Please also know that we continue to follow all guidance set forth for privacy, patient care, employee safety, and efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 as provided by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). We remain in constant contact with CDPH and CMS. As written above, we have our own stringent protocols; we are adamant about being risk averse when it comes to each of you. This new positive test result reminds us that we are not in any way free of the need to continue our strict practices.

We ask our residents to stay on campus. We ask you not to allow others onto the campus. Each time someone who does not have to be on campus for the sole purpose of caring for the residents and our operation, we open ourselves to unnecessary risk.

We remind and encourage family members to communicate regularly through email, FaceTime, Skype, Zoom and traditional phone calls. Again, I cannot stress enough, bringing guests onto campus or leaving the campus is a great risk. If you take this risk, you open us all up to the possibility of contracting the virus. Please choose not to.

I want to thank each of you for your continued patience and prayers. You will hear more from us as information becomes available. We’re all in this together and need to stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Pam Ferris
